You MUST have a passport, passport card or other travel documents authorized by the Department of Homeland Security to be able to enter the US from any bordering nations (ie: Mexico) and Caribbean countries when traveling by AIR, LAND or SEA.

Applicants may obtain either or both of two travel documents: a standard passport book acceptable for all international travel; a passport card acceptable only when entering the United States by land or sea (not air travel) from Mexico, Canada, Bermuda and the Caribbean.

Along with completed and signed forms, applicants must submit proof of citizenship, two color photographs and appropriate fees.

A first-time passport book costs $100 for those 16 or older, $85 for those under 16. Renewals are $75. A passport card for first-time applicants costs $45 for those 16 or older, $35 for younger. Renewals are $20.

Passport delivery takes three to four weeks. Expedited delivery within two weeks is available for an additional $60 fee.
